Hola my beautiful people…Let me introduce myself. My name is Adan Orozco Jimenez but people worldwide and locally know me as Papi. I love food, family, art, travel and culture. I have worked in the hospitality industry my whole life.

I am passionate about giving my customers an unforgettable experience.

Finally, my dream come has come true! At Papi’s Mexican Kitchen I can share with you the authentic flavours of the Mexico of my childhood. Our little Mexican kitchen offers traditional mouth-watering Mexican street-food.And you don’t have to travel to Mexico for the experience! Come and visit us by the waterfront on the beautiful Redcliffe Peninsula. We love making new friends!Te veo pronto! See you soon!

Papi’s Journey

I grew up in a little town in Mexico called Metepec. My hometown town has many wonderful cafes and restaurants and they are renowned for their delicious homemade cuisine. As a child I grew up making and selling fresh fruit juices, desserts and tacos in our neighbourhood market with my mother. I always loved the aromas and flavours of the food and the bustling atmosphere of the markets. Most of all, I loved to see our customers happy and satisfied.

Eventually I began working with some of the world’s most reputable cruise line companies. It was while I was working on a cruise ship in Venice that I met my Australian wife, Kelly.Can you imagine a more romantic backdrop?

The travel industry took me to many beautiful destinations. Along the way I made many life-long friends and had unforgettable experiences.Kelly and I married in Mexico but returned to Brisbane, Kelly’s hometown, to raise our two beautiful girls. Here, I have been privileged to work in some of the best venues Brisbane City has to offer.However, it has always been my dream to have a restaurant of my own where I can share a little bit of my Mexican culture and my passion for wonderful food and enjoyment of life.

So authentic, the flavours are so fresh and bright, the guacamole was sensational, the tacos were amazing and the Huarache de Oaxaca is now my favourite dish!

We left with the biggest smiles on our faces and will definitely be back!
